Foursquare Has Added Five New Languages to Its App
MASHABLE - Sep 2 - Bahasa Indonesian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Thai. The app will automatically switch to the phone’s default language setting. This is the second wave of Foursquare’s efforts at global language expansion.

Facebook to Launch Music Platform with Spotify, MOG & Rdio
MASHABLE - Sep 1 - Facebook intends to launch its long-rumored music service next month with Spotify, MOG and Rdio as three of the company’s launch partners. The music and media platform will be announced at Facebook’s f8 developer conference on Sept. 22. It will allow users to listen to music from within Facebook.com.

Hulu Now Live in Japan with Subscription-Only Service
TECH CRUNCH - Sep 1 - As expected, Hulu will offer both TV shows and movies across various devices for $20/month (1,480 Yen). Unlike in the U.S., where there are both free and premium versions, in Japan the service will be subscription-only. Hulu will stream American shows in both English and Japanese from CBS, NBC, and ABC, as well as movies. Hulu plans to add Japanese-produced shows and moveis as well.

Zynga Debuts Adventure World
TECH CRUNCH - Aug 31 - Zynga just debuted a trailer for its newest social game on Facebook—Adventure World. According to the game’s Facebook page, the game’s tag line is ‘team up, explore lost worlds, unearth adventures in Zynga’s newest game, Adventure World.” It looks like the game is developed around a number of different puzzles, maps, and lands.

Tween Virtual World Maker Woozworld Raises $6M
TECH CRUNCH - Aug 30 - Woozworld, a developer of a social game/virtual world for tweens (kids aged 9-14), has raised $6M in new funding from Telesystem and iNovia Capital along with unnamed angel investors. In addition, Bernard Gershon, former GM and senior VP of Disney, has joined the startup’s board. The capital will be used to expand Woozworld’s services to include mobile platforms and boost its marketing efforts to grow reach.

Zynga to Delay IPO Because of Market Conditions
MASHABLE - Aug 29 - Zynga is delaying its IPO, originally set for next month, until November. The company, which is behind FarmVille, CityVille and Mafia Wars, among other titles, hopes to raise $1.5 billion to $2 billion in its IPO.

China’s Sina Weibo Bans Users for Spreading ‘False Rumours’
MEMEBURN - Aug 29 - China’s largest microblogging service has contacted millions of its users warning them to ignore any false reports spread over the network. The bloggers who had posted the false reports would have their accounts suspended for a month. They would also be unable to send messages or be followed in that period. Sina Weibo has attracted ~200M users in the two years it has been in existence, around the same as its main Western rival Twitter.

Russian Search Giant Yandex Acquires "The Tweeted Times"
TECH CRUNCH - Aug 26 - Yandex, one of the leading Internet companies in Russia, has acquired startup venture The Tweeted Times, which enables people to create custom online 'newspapers' generated from their Twitter accounts. Financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed, but Yandex says it aims to continue offering the social news service and that the entire The Tweeted Times team will be joining the search engine company.
